Re: Financial Hardship at White River Light This seems somewhat cushy to me…Living for free at the Light for 27 years, while getting paid to do so ? It has become just about a proven fact that when the government is involved in just about any way, shape, or form in owning lighthouses, there is bound to be trouble up the road. How, by the way, are the group that is caring for Little Sable, Big Sable, and Luddington working out their budget ? I would bet it doesn’t involve paying a single individual $ 14,000 to live at Big Sable year round. And while it is nice that they are open 6 days a week during the summer, somebody had better get a reality check and learn how to compromise. $ 25,000 doesn’t seem like an insurmountable barrier, if only both sides would give a little and do some budget trimming.

Re: Financial Hardship at White River Light It's great that all those people showed up at that meeting supporting the Lighthouse.
Maybe something can be worked out, after all. I, for one, wouldn't mind giving a small fee to go on the grounds. This type of thing is done at many other lights.
