Although offshore this light is at a location better for access and utilization than Boon Island the property value was greatly reduced when the 1904 duplex keepers dwelling was needlessly destroyed for being claimed to be badly deteriorated only 10 years after automation in 1984 and this during the years when the CG indiscriminately demolished many no longer needed structures at many light stations.

If someone buys this light they will not own it free and clear. They will still be required to conform to costly legal historic property preservation requirements that would also apply to building a new dwelling or any other structures (shed or outhouse) on this property.
