Beth - Yes, I love the Digital Rebel. For 30 years, I used only a Pentax K1000 35mm camera. I made the switch a little over a year ago, and now I never touch the Pentax. I'm still learning to control the settings of the camera for the best possible results, but it's possible to get great photos even if you only use the automatic settings. I've had prints as large as 24x36 made, and the clarity is amazing. I really think you'll be happy with it if you buy one.

Thanks Jeremy. I talked to the owner of a store I go to, today. He has one in that someone traded after only a couple of months to upgrade. Has everything except warranty papers. Only asking $450. I'm going at noon tomorrow to check it out-they had it checked also. Sounds like a deal I may not pass up!

Colors at sunrise and sunset really stand out during the colder months with the cold, clean air.

To Ross. It is more appropriate to repair the walkway up the hill to the Owls Head tower during the off-season for tourists. It would not surprise me if Capt. Paul Dilger of the Abbie Burgess "enlisted" some of his crew to do the work. Paul and his wife life at this lighthouse.

I know it's more appropriate, I just wouldn't want to be the one doing it :)

So you are wimpy. On a sunny day with the wind from a northerly direction that location would be quite nice to be outside.

I paid my dues working in putrid conditions! I'm too old for that now ;)

There is nothing inherently wrong with "the number." It is just the basis of a game. \:D/

It would be nice if the Maine DEP would move their ugly looking air monitor shack (photos 2 and 4) away from the present location immediately beside the light station buildings. There is ample room on this lot further away from the historic structures and it is not difficult to move.
