I wish you all could be at a Flying Santa stop to see what a thrill it is for the kids, from the time they see the helicopter coming to their personal gift from Santa. Last Sunday, I was at Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor for Santa's arrival, and the kids of the Coast Guard personnel there were very, very happy. It remains a wonderful way to say "thank you" to the Coast Guard. (Pemaquid Point is one of the handful of civilian stops, but it's mainly for the Coast Guard.)

I continue to urge you to support this effort -- see http://www.flyingsanta.org. Every donation helps, no matter how small.

It is a great time indeed. I had the pleasure of photographing the event at Group Southwest Harbor 3 years ago. The adults had as much fun as the children did! The Flying Santa Group does a fantastic job of keeping this tradition alive.
