From The Block Island Times

JAMESTOWN — The Beavertail Lighthouse Museum Association has received a $50,000 grant from the Rhode Island Historic Preservation Commission for repairs to the light keeper and assistant keeper’s houses, the Jamestown Press reports. The work includes masonry and chimney repair, repair of windows and exterior wood trim, and painting.

The Beavertail association is gearing up for a $709,055 project that will transform the light station into an accessible and historic destination.

Good for this group. I have spent many a happy hour at Beavertail. Southern RI is a very special place to me.
