OK, I feel better that now at least there's one decent photo of Nubble on this thread.

Nice Gary but this looks just like the typical shot of Nubble. How about a photo showing the boathouse and landing where the storm damage occurred? Funds to repair these was the subject of the news article.

Not what they gave you with the article either and when I was shooting at Nubble this April, I was shooting before 5 AM. Not exactly conducive to getting any detail down in The Gut.

Concerning the newspaper article they just grabbed a file photo to stick in with the article. Give them credit for getting the right lighthouse. Looking at your photo I am surprised to see so much light on the dwelling and tower and so with very few shadows for an early morning photo in April. I would have guessed it was taken much later, late morning.

I'll add one more :)

I'm actually quite annoyed that Nubble is getting FEMA money, what about White Island (Isles of Shoals) Light? Walkway and solar panels were completely washed away in the same storm. We even had damage at Portsmouth... There was something I read previously that claimed $1M in damages at Nubble... that seems like an awful lot.

Island, if you look at the date on the photo that I posted, that was shot in August of 2007 in the late afternoon when the sun was well to the west, not April 2008 at 5 AM when I was last at Nubble after the storm...

So I guess you do not have a photo showing the boathouse from your earlier visit.

I found a good shot of the boathouse and ramp here in the second and sixth photos of this series.

And Ross, most of the money is for the park not the lighthouse. Whatever they do with those funds probably won't prevent similar damage to the park from a future major storm.

I have no doubt of that, I had some photos and such that I used to have in their gift shop, I had pulled them out a while back for the very reason that they don't need it. Other lights could benefit more!
