From The Daily News ...

Board Begins Process of Awarding CPA Funds
NEWBURYPORT — The Community Preservation Committee will begin meeting this week to sort through the grant requests for Community Preservation Act funding ... The Community Preservation Committee has $325,000 to distribute this year after meeting bond obligations, Chairman Michael Dissette said ... The Lighthouse Preservation Society is seeking $98,000 to build a new public park around the Front Range Light owned by the Coast Guard.

Obviously I cut and pasted the relevant portion above ... here's the entire article ... http://www.newburyportnews.com/punews/l ... 30817.html
Believe those who search for the truth ...
Doubt those who find it ...

Yes, the fur may fly over how this money is gotten. The CPC gets it's money because the good people of Newburyport have to pay a 2 percent surcharge on property tax bills. I wonder what types of property they are including in the surcharge. Now at first this may not seem like a great of money. 2 percent is 2 percent it does add up. Think about this.

Afraid that the 2% police will come after you if you actually signed the post above, Carole?
