the July issue of Yankee Magazine (www.yankeemagazine.com) will have a feature on lighthouses. I have a few photos appearing in there, but there will be stories and other interesting information, check it out if you can get a copy where you are (I think you get it on their site as a trial issue)

Ross ...

Popped up to Border's to get a copy ... Me being me, I could have missed them but I saw no credits on the photos so I assumed they all belonged to the author ... not to our leader ... checked online just now and it appears they still have last month's up ... any insight?

Also, as an aside, this shot was in an ad that was in the front half of the magazine ... please know ... although it doesnt appear so here, in the magazine it surely appeared to be a photograph ... I DID write down the website referenced but I must have mislaid it ... I apologize, especially if the fellow who did it stumbles upon this ...)

(Whoops! Found it ... cover is by John Woodmansee)

There's a "web exclusive" feature on the website with a slideshow of photos. None are Ross' though.
And there's one mistake on the site, as in an improperly named lighthouse.

But I got a kick out of reading one comment by someone named Sharon. She said, and I quote:

These lighthouses are just magnificent. Are there any lighthouses on the West Coast?

Sue .. as I grow and hopefully mature, I am willing to put into print the admission that, when getting started, I had no concept of lighthouses on lakes, "Great" or otherwise ... how much poorer a person I would have been had lighthouses had just been a passing fancy and OMP had never enterd my orbit

... and inland river lights? Who knew then ...

I thought this was a good comment...
Beatiful lighthouses, I have a collection of them.I have never seen a real one. Some day I hope.

There are lots of folks who have never seen a real lighthouse. It's especially nice that through lighthouse collectibles and through lighthouse images, there is an awareness of sorts.

I see a photo in the slideshow from Roxie. :yay:

The slideshow they have is really old, it's been there for years.

The credits for photos are on the bottom inside corner of each page (typeset is vertical)
