The Buffalo Lighthouse Association web site is:

Visitation policy: The 1833 lighthouse is on a working Coast Guard base and is subject to post-9/11 security restrictions. The Buffalo Lighthouse Association is a small preservation-oriented group and lacks the manpower to provide regular tour escorts, as now required (before 9/11, the grounds were open during all daylight hours). The tower is now open for waterfront festivals and scheduled tours, and occasionally by appointment (vogel@buffnet.net) if board members can find the time.

Mike ~

Thanks for posting the site. I am originally from Rochester, NY, and when ever I would go to Buffalo, I always used this site as a reference.

It has a lot of great information on the Buffalo lights. I especially like the interactive map - move your mouse over a particular light, and information comes up regarding that light.

A beautifully done site, Mike!
I also enjoyed the interactive-map. For those of us who have
never visited the harbor, it really puts things into perspective.

I'll be calling you next time I'm in Buffalo, probably in August. I tried to visit the CG station about two years ago, but I was told absolutely no civilians allowed. My in-laws are in Buffalo, so we usually visit once a year, in the summertime of course!

Thanks for passing along the link. I took a quick peak, but will be back to check it out in more detail later.
