Wow, thanks everyone :!: I haven't seen the magazine yet, so I don't know the full contents of the story. My mother got her copy and called me last night to congratulate me.

Everyone likes to be appreciated now and then, so this is very nice and I'm grateful to Tim Harrison, et al. Of course we're all involved in the preservation of lighthouses and their history first and foremost because we believe it's a very worthwhile thing to do; any personal rewards are secondary. There are so many people who deserve awards for what they do in the lighthouse world -- there aren't enough awards to go around. But thanks again! :)

Just got my copy of the January issue. It's a nice story and, again, it's greatly appreciated. The photo of me, by the way, was taken by my wife Charlotte Raczkowksi on the waterfront at Newburyport, MA this past summer. Looks like that starfish is about to swallow my head!
