Oh, I'm happy to hear I'm not the only one who likes lighthouses and turtles. I've had a pet turtle since 1991.

Here's a photo I took while Scuba diving in Hawaii in 2003.

Tammy, that is one VERY COOL shot!! I'd love to see some more of your underwater stuff. How big of a flash did you have? How far down were you for that one?

Thank you Jen!

Unfortunately I only have scanned a few images from diving. My film scanner broke a couple of years ago and I just have a flatbed scanner now.

That photo was taken with the Sea & Sea MX 10 with a YS-40A Underwater Strobe. (That's the camera I sold...well practically gave away last fall.) It was a point and shoot underwater film camera. I don't dive often enough to invest in expensive underwater camera equipment.

I'd have to check my dive log to see the depth but I think it was about 50 feet. In January 2000 we went diving in Kauai and saw lots sea turtles sleeping in the caverns. That was really cool. I've also seen lots of sea turtles while snorkeling, too.

Here's a shark photo that was at 70 feet near Molokini Crater near Maui that I took March 2003. It was inside a cave.

The current was really strong, and it was our second dive. I was having trouble with my buoyancy and had to struggle to get down to 70 feet. We only stayed at that depth briefly. After that, I was exhausted. That was the last time I was diving. In October we snorkled with manatees in Crystal River.

If I dig up any negatives, I'll post some more photos.

Love the turtle Tammy! Snorkeling with the turtles in Hawaii was the highlight of my trip even though I was out there to see the lighthouses on the islands.

So, now how often can one combine two of their favorite passions? Without really trying I just found this...

I think I had this conversation last night...If I ever found out I only had a short time to live, no question where I'm heading. That footstool sure looks tempting. Although I'm not sure what the bunnies would think.

One has to wonder if any groups outside of CT or NY have entered lighthouses to this event?

Does anyone know of a group or individual that has?
