Looking around the interwebs, I came across this blog of a lady who does needlepoint. She's come up with a way to make sky and water look more realistic, and showcases it on her lighthouse ones. Just thought they were pretty. I'm not crafty at all, but admire those who can do things with their hands.

Sue, I am one of those crafty types. I do not to this type of craft. I have not seen very many lighthouse crafts that are of good quality. Maybe I have not looked in the right places.

Sue ... Carole

Im from the dexterity school of "big problem, big hammer ... little problem, little hammer" so I can appreciate the time and patience, not to mention the abilty to count, that goes into the creation of these works ...

Barry:

Depending on what you are doing, creating or redoing: hours and hours of work. This is something I try and keep in mind when I go to art or craft shows or stores. Anything made by hand takes planning, (measure at least twice - cut once) and plain keeping at whatever it is your are doing. This is so you do not have the dreaded UFOs taking you over.

Just got a new follower on Twitter who has created a cross stitch pattern of Ludington Lighthouse on Lake Michigan. Says he's looking to make more and donate them to museums for fundraisers. :)

Now that is a good catch, and says a lot for the accuracy of this gentleman's rendering. :D

However, according to Terry's pages, it's a 4 degree lean to the northeast. His title looks like it's leaning to the northwest. #-o
