I will be the Lighthouse Keeper at Battery Point for the month of Sept. 2010. I am both excited and wondering what I'm
getting myself into. Any past Keepers of this light registered on this forum? Frank 8O

...
Frank ...

Will you be keeping a log? Maybe you would want to share when your
tour is complete?

Assume duty as Lighthouse Keeper Sept.2 at Battery Point Light. Today is Sept. 4 and have we been busy with tourist!
The weather is outstanding and when the tide is in it is OUR ISLAND. We have discovered this Light is the most photographed
on the West Coast. Come up and visit us. Frank

Sept 3rd. The tide was in but the younger people manage to get across and up the hill to visit the lighthouse grounds anyway which they are entitled to, but not after sunset. We as keepers, have set hours to open but if we have the time
we let them in for a tour, and the gift shop even if the time is not scheduled. The lantern room needs major repairs so any funds we can generate I'm sure is appreciated by the Del Norte Historical Society. Have not had time to maintain the grounds
with all the tourist, this has been quite a physical experience walking up and down stairs, basement to lantern room lots of times a day. All seem happy to visit the house. :) Frank
