The original flash pattern was described as 10 seconds on, 1.5 seconds off, or 11.5 seconds per flash. This first order lens had 24 bulls-eyes creating 24 flashes per revolution. The rotational speed of this lens was therefore; 11.5 x 24 = 276 seconds or 4.6 minutes per revolution of the lens.
