Well, that was one soggy trip...

A forum to discuss lighthouses on the West Coast Region of the US
(California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Hawaii)

We got back from California (LA & Anaheim) last night. We had 4 days of straight rain. Well, you gotta do what you gotta do. After 3 wet days of Disneyland and California Adventure, I got to go lighthousing on my last day. We hit Parker's, Long Beach (Lions' Club), Angel's Gate and Point Fermin. We were soppose to also see Point Vicente but the road was closed due to a landslide. Pictures will be up soon.

After all that I learned one thing. The only good thing about Disneyland in the rain is NO LINES.

Joe, I'm anxious to see your photos of Pt. Fermin. Did you get there on one of the dates they were open? Or did you have the challenge of shooting around the chain link fence laying on the sidewalk like I did? :)

LOL Joe, No lines. Hahaha that must have been great!

I'd like to see the photos from a past Lighthousing.net photo contest winner... ;)

I didn't get to have a vacation or see Disney like Joe, but I would like to see the sun at least once. We have had two snow, ice, sleet, freezing rain events, heavy fog, and again rain over the past 14 days. It was not a pleaure driving home from Boston with visibility less than a quarter mile.

Looking forward to the pictures to brighten up our CT weather.

Jen,
The grounds are now open, no chain link fence. We got there on Monday so the Lighthouse itself was closed.

Ross,
Sorry... No prize winners here. Just grey skies and rain.

Well, here are the shots I promised.

More can be found at Lighthouse Joe's. I have also added some shots from NJLHC 2004.
