Surprising to see this story in a paper from Port Huron, but it's a good read nonetheless.

I read the posted article. I then Googled this lighthouse. As anyone on the board climbed down to and then back up the steps to the lighthouse. The going down the stairs to the lighthouse would not be too bad. The climbing back up would be another matter completely. I have wonder how it would take to climb up the stairs if you are in good shape?

Hi Carole, to answer your question, going down isn't as easy as you would think. A lot of the path isn't steps its very steeply sloped sidewalk. They always say 310 steps, but add another 2-3 hundred steps that make up the slopped sidewalk and you would have a better idea of how far it is down from the top. I've done the trek 3 times and I consider myself in decent shape, and I got to tell you it's not fun climbing out of there. The steps are really small in their rise so it's an odd half step up each stair.
