Seen in the Travels with Terry column ... ( http://blog.oregonlive.com/terryrichard ... io_li.html ) ... The Oregonian

The "Octopus Tree?"

The lighthouse is the shortest on the Oregon coast at 38 feet tall,
but it has a commanding view from 217 feet above the ocean

We were there a few years ago- unfortunately it wasn't open for the day yet. That's often the problem with lighthouse touring- timing. You have to decide if you want to get to more lighthouses or get more at each lightouse and the two don't mix well most of the time.

The lighthouse- and the location- remind me of Pt. Reyes in CA except for the fact there are not 300 some odd steps down to the light at Cape Meares.
