Well, with all the pros on this trip and the work they will be showing, and the fact I was shooting film and wont have prints back until Tuesday or Wednesday, thought I would give perspective to one of the lights seen ...

Stratford Point Lighthouse in Lordship, CT didnt always look like the postcard we saw through the fog yesterday. As Jeremy alluded, it once had no lantern ... here's a picture I took in 1982 that showed the sad state of affairs at that time ... as they use to say in the Weekly Reader Comprehension Tests from Grade School, compare and contrast to what you saw yesterday ...

It looks a lot differnet than when I saw it about 3-4 years ago as well.

The house has even been repaired and was being used to house an active Coast Guard family.

Glad they put it back together. you got any more from that vintage year of 1982 or so? that was long before I had any interest in lightouses.

Dennis ...

That time period was just about the end of my first lighthouse phase ... My first born was about to turn one and as he grew older his interests would become my interests ... I would make one more trip that fall and then it would be a good while before I got back into the lights ... I'll check and see what else I have that might be of interest ...

I missed you not being there Saturday ... I caught up with Judy ... Ross and Shirin for sure ... Roseanne (Thundermooch) and Mike ... I got to finally shake hands with AL ... I remet the Copes who were at Stonington last fall ... Linda and I renewed acquaintances and I was introduced to many from NELL and the CF including Fran.

I also got to spend some time with Jen after the tour and watch her work ... I'll be describing that in a separate post but it was a special few hours for me as I got to see a pro work and answer my questions.

For sure you and I need to shake hands soon ...

I'll be posting my digital pictures tomorrow. it will be a few days for my film pictures. The weather could have been better, but it was workable at the beginning. We pretty much stayed outside until the end and the rain drove us inside. That was definitely a trip worth repeating though.
