The cruise out in Plymouth said it included Plymouth (Gurnet) but we were about 1.5 miles away and the captain said "There it is, ok we're heading back"

!!!!

I have only Monomoy and Gurnet left and I will have completed Massachusetts!!! ARGH!! :)

Nothing like having the rug pulled out from under you, eh Ross. But on the good side you got some sweet shotsof these two.

Ross,

You'll have to take the FRIENDS OF BOSTON HARBOR cruise to Plymouth for Gurnet. They will get you fairly close (medium tele). I still need a few in MA, including Buzzards Bay.

And what happened :?: It looks like you finally made a LH cruise without rain, fog, etc

I know... there must have been a fluke in the normal weather patterns. I consider myself lucky to always know when it's going to be crappy weather. Just look at my trip schedule and those are the days! :)

I need to get out to Boston Harbor again anyways, I haven't been out there since '03.

Every time I see shots of lighthouses from MA I want to see 'em! If I hadn't have done Long Island on my recent trip, I would have done some of the Cape Cod lights. Ahhh, perhaps next year....

Ross,

It would seem Al Roker is only necessary on the NELL stuff ... your trip through NJ last summer ... and up in Maine last fall ... brought no ill wind.

Had a similar experience on the North Shore tour out of Boston Harbor ... we were supposed to make it to Straitsmouth Harbor ... we made Eastern Point ... we made Thatcher Island ... and ... and ... we turned around with the light in view up front. Jeez!

Got to love Scituate ... the harbor shot and the driftwood shot ... they look really good ... thanks for sharing

I have been wandering the same thing, Mike.

Ross, nice job on the photos. I too know what it is like to take a cruise with the though of getting close to a light and then have the "rug ripped out from under me" as Mike put it. Anyway, you did well with what you got close to!

SIT-CHEW-IT

Well, it just continually adds to the challenge of getting all the lights. Once MA is done, there's 5 in CT and about 20 in Maine and I'll have New England complete!

Beautiful, Ross! :yay:

I'll take # 3 and #5! You know I'm a sucker for the photos that feature lighthouse and boats. Like them all though.

That 3rd Scituate is a testament to the temperature yesterday, 90+ and humid... ARGH! The boat to Duxbury was relaxing, although I got a little fried.

Maybe I should look at setting up a LH.net weekend in MA somewhere and bring everyone to the lighthouses :)

:D Nice Pictures, Ross! :D

Peg & I are staying with Ken & Dot Black for a few days and we will be heading for West Quoddy in Lubec tomorrow! I can't wait. We may get to climb the tower! See you next Sunday at the open house?
