Oak Island Light

A forum to post any lighthouse pictures you'd like others to see. Feel free to talk about lighthouse photography. Lighthouse-related photos (such as LSS and lenses) are also welcome.

As I mentioned in the other post, we did go to Oak Island on Sunday after we checked in to our hotel in Wilmington. While the purpose of the visit to the island was to photograph the LSS, we did take a few shots of the lighthouse. While these two are not the best of photos, I thought I would share them.

On of the setting sun lighting the clouds behind the lighthouse.

I might have a couple more, I will have to check.

Nice shots, it's too bad a car got into the 1st pic, I encountered that problem photographing Houses in Key West, otherwise they both rock. I like how you can see the aerobeacons lit in the 1st one

Thanks! I thought about blacking out the head lights on the car, but I didn't want to adjust the photos at all, other than to resize and sharpen them to make them ready for posting.

Actually, I think the headlight adds a little interest to the photo without detracting from the Lh. I'm glad that you left it in.
Nice photos, Stephen! :)

That's a great first shot in silhouette ... I think the rise and slight swerve of the road just adds to spectacular composition and great execution ...

... but if we're voting, I vote "no car," as I think the headlights detract attention from the lighthouse ... but either way ... in or out ... a most agreeable picture ... thanks for postin it!
