In My Camera (Large File)

A forum to post any lighthouse pictures you'd like others to see. Feel free to talk about lighthouse photography. Lighthouse-related photos (such as LSS and lenses) are also welcome.

Quickly glancing at my weekend's shots I found some I really liked ... this one just jumped at me ... its the New London Harbor light ... from the edge of the driveway ... right next to the sign that reads "Private Property ... No Tresspassing ... No Photos"

I apologize for leaving it a little large ... but as I shrunk it it got all distorted ... it was from the first batch I shot with the new camera ... I'll shrink the rest tomorrow as I play with it some more ... promise!

Thanks for indulging me ...

Nice shot Barry. I might have missed it, but which camera did you end up buying?

For sure it was the H5 ...

I am so simple about such things ... I understand so little but what I did understand was the 12x optical equates to 400+ mm zoom and where I am going next week that seemed paramount ...

There's even an automatic setting that supposedly enhances the blue of seaside shots without affecting the balance in the rest of the picture 8O

And by the way, whoever among you mentioned it, you were correct ... on the short side it was awfully tough shooting inside the Outer Lighthouse in Saybrook!

I did appreciate all the input ...

Great shot, Barry, and congrats on your new camera. Those trees have grown -- here's a shot I took from the same spot about a decade ago.

Fantastic shot! Great composition. I used to have the Sony H1 and I absolutely loved the 12x zoom. I now have a rebel XT with a 28-300mm, which is still shorter than your 12x, but not by much.
