On our way from Odderøya http://www.lighthousing.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6218 to Lindesnes http://www.lighthousing.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=6233 we did an excursion to Rykvingen and Hatholmen Lighthouse, on small islands off the South Norwegian coast. A small old fisherman's boat sailed us through the fjord and between the rocky islands, but once on open sea it turned out that the waves were to high to moor at Rykvingen. The boat continued its way to Hatholmen, but when the waves became higher than the boat, the captain decided that Hatholmen could not be reached. The volunteer lifeboat crew had noticed that our boat sailed into the big waves and sailed to us, asking if everything was okay and what our plans were. When they heard we were an international group of lighthouse lovers, they guided us to a safe place between the islands, where we could step over to the lifeboat that brought us on top speed to Hatholmen.
