Another new calendar

A forum to post any lighthouse pictures you'd like others to see. Feel free to talk about lighthouse photography. Lighthouse-related photos (such as LSS and lenses) are also welcome.

With the lighthousing.net calendar and Gary's 2007 offering, it's been a pretty good year for many of us to have our photos in print. But we can add one more to the list, as our friend Stephen been featured in the 2007 calendar printed by the Lee County, Florida solid waste division. His photo of Sanibel graces the cover and Boca Grande is inside.

Here's what Stephen's contributions look like...

Thanks guys!

It is always cool to see your work in print, in any form, but to know that you get paid for it and that it went out to 125,000 residents, that made it even better.

With my web site listed in the calendar as well, I have already sold a couple of prints due to the calendar and had a request for one more. I hope that keeps up.

Thanks again!!!
Stephen

Stephen,

Great job and glad you are getting some hits from it on your site. Nice that they let you add that info to the calendar.

Any good jokes on the subject matter of the calendar? :)

Larry - Of course as many people on this site will let you can and should get paid. Yes, towns, city and the like pay for photo's. Many times when I have run events for major organizations - (I was a volunteer) - one of my duties help hire people for various things we needed.

Sometimes I was able to get a discount or I got them space that they could mention how they could be contacted. In fact I have to beg people to give me fliers, business cards and the like that I could put out with auction items.

I also a very strong believer that people should

1. Get and be given credit for that they done or contributed.

2. The public at large should have enough information so that it is very, very easy to make contact with these people.
