An engravure on a stone in the old chapel on Caldey Island, Wales. On the island are a monastry and a lighthouse. The importance of the lighthouse is shown in this engravure.

Frans ... thanks much for sharing this ... who wouldn't appreciate such a representation ... My knowledge of Christian symbolism is limited ... any idea which saint is being portrayed?

......and here's the real thing:-

There's some interesting reading about the Monks on Caldey on this web site:-
http://www.caldey-island.co.uk/cistercian.htm

Thanks for the info Frans. Is there a date on that engraving? The Monks arrived on the island in 1929 so it must have been done well before then.
The monastery has been there since 1115 according to the web site.
Fascinating stuff.
