I was in Ohio this past week and had a boat ride out to photograph the Lorain Harbor light at dawn. Here's one of the shots that arose from that trip.

More later, I have 12 Gbytes of RAW format images to sift through...

Very nice Gary. Wish you would have called me, I'd have loved to hit some Ohio lights this time of year.

Everything pretty much happened at the last minute and at a rather frenetic pace... to the tune of 2100+ miles from Saturday to Thursday :!: I wasn't sure I was actually going until I got home from work last Friday.

I've got a few other shots of the Lorain Harbor lighthouse at sunrise. This is one of them.

These aren't in any particular order relative to the sunrise...

I love the subtle changes in color as the sunrise progresses from the blue hour through the ranges of colors that you can see until the sun finally breaks over the horizon... I don't often get to watch this from the water so last Sunday morning was quite a treat, especially with a lighthouse in front of me and the freedom to be wherever I wanted relative to that lighthouse :!:

This is a shot of the breakwater light at dawn, with the cumulus clouds in the distance out over Lake Erie carrying the color of the sunrise.

I was hoping for some of that color behind the Lorain Harbor light but it never materialized last Sunday morning. Seems hard to believe that that was already a week ago :!:

A private boat ride is a beautiful thing... Plenty of keepers there.

Here's another one for you, Hersh... I ended up shooting 200+ shots of Lorain that day.

The nice thing about the boat we were using that morning is that we could go right in against the breakwater, which allowed for some really unique angles for reflections. More of that coming.
