While there's no explanation given for this, Ill just make the
assumption it is a reader's submission. I thought it a pretty
cool juxtaposition, never having seen the lights presented in
this manner ...

How far apart are these two lights ?

Less than a mile as the crow flies, if you're on the water near downtown you can get this shot. With a Gary lens you could probably get it from the downtown pier!
