In the current issue of LD, page 40 makes metion of the Ocean City, NJ LSS being purchased to be restored and opened to the public.

Does anyone have a photo of it?

Thanks Larry. That looks like an 1882-Type Station?

That is great news.

OCEAN CITY STATION CG 126, NJ was built in 1885 and signs in 2004 read "NOTICE OF DEMOLITION" were posted on the building.

Is the main part of the building brick or is that just for the fireplace?

To the best of my recollection the building is either clapboard or shake. The brick seen in my photo is the fireplace.

My computer is down (using an old stand by) and I can't access my other photos.

I thought that might have been the case.

Thanks Al.

The LSS station at Ocean City NJ was one of twenty-two 1882-Type stations. Only five now exist including the Ocean City LSS station in MD.

This proposed plan is part of a bigger battle (preservation vs development) now ongoing in the Ocean City NJ area to preserve this and other historic buildings. This conflict is typical of what is happening elsewhere in this country.

It changed a bit over the years, didn't it? This LSS should be preserved by all and any means!

Thanks for the photos, Al!!! :)
