This is a story published on the USCG 5th District's News site about the modern day keeper and his love for his work at the life saving station, Chicamacomico in Rodanthe, NC.

James Charlet is a USCG Auxiliarist and former history instructor who feels his work at the 1874 station is his "dream job".

Please read more about this interesting man and his love for the Chicamacomico LSS.

My photo of the 1874 station, one of two LSS's at Chicamacomico, where James Charlet teaches visitors about the US Life Saving Service. I purposely left in the modern day beach home for contrast.
