They're considering "removing the station and replacing it with a metal or other material building with the same dimensions as the present station." That's pretty radical, but I suppose it would be better than letting the building fall apart due to neglect.

Maybe not, Jeremy, but it's still not preserving history. :( I had hoped for a better solution.
