Hi guys. Has anyone read the novel by Jimmy Buffet, called A Salty Piece of Land? I wanted some opinions before I bought it. But, please, don't tell me the story-just if it's any good or not :!:

Thanks,
Beth

I haven't read it yet, but I am a HUGE Buffet fan. :-k Sounds like it might be a good item to take on my up coming trip.

Beth, I haven't read it but [recently] I saw a review of it on one of the networks [can't remember which one] and it sounded pretty good, and they gave it high marks.

Stephen really likes Buffet and I started to buy this book for him for Christmas (too expensive when I saw it at the time), but I read the back and the inside cover "blurb" and it sounded like it would be interesting.

I bought it yesterday and I am planning to take it with me this weekend when I go to Kansas City.

I have started the book and it is very good so far. I'm only at chapter 5 but seems good. Plus...there is a special CD included (only available with the book)! Can't beat that.

Stephen,

I have only read into the first chapter. Hope to get some reading time in this weekend!
I like it so far, though!

Hey, fellow readers.

I finished the book. I just wanted to say that I enjoyed it, minus the curse words....yeah, we're talking Buffet I know I know. Anyway, at first I was wondering about the storyline, but later it all came together very well.

What did you guys think? I didn't want to give anything away in case a person here might purchase the book or be reading it.

started it and read about 100 pages. The lighthouse seems important but so is the past of the main character.

Hey Gang!

Last night Christina and I attend the Jimmy Buffet concert in Charlotte. This concert tour is named for the book, "A Salty Piece of Land Tour" and as a part of the set, they have built a thirty-foot tall (estimating the height) lighthouse that looks exactly like the Cayo Loco lighthouse one the cover. It even had two reflectors and lamps and was fully operational.

Boats, Christina and I both thought about your lighthouse when we saw it.

Anyway, the concert was a BLAST, except for when the dunk behind us puked and it splashed on the backs of our seats and we could not sit down, but we were at a concert, so why would you want to.

By the way, I finished the book Tuesday night and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I am not a "reader," but I would reccomend it!
