Has anyone read this one The Lighthouses of Trinity House :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASI ... 72-4695959

and the quote about Withernsea wasn't from me, but what a coincidence.

I think this must be my first book as my grandfather went to Trinity and Trinity school is still here in Hull.

Just found another book that maybe a good starting point for me as well called Lighthouses: Towers of the Sea by Charles Payton, so my first purchase of lighthouses begins

Thanks for the 'heads up' on both books, Johnny! I had heard about the "Towers of the Sea" but wasn't aware of the Trinity book.
Btw....do you know if The Northern Lighthouse Board recently published a book? When I say 'recently,' what I mean is.....within the past two years??

Thanks,
Brent

Still looking but a link from the official site: http://www.nlb.org.uk/theboard/aim.htm

gave me this site with some interesting books on lighthouses and lightships etc.

http://www.whittlespublishing.com/main.html

including Rock Lighthouses of Britain, Last of the Line, No More Paraffin-Oilers and a few others.

Hope that's of some help, will post if I find an official book by the NLB in the last 2 years or so.
