Which lighthouse was built inside a previous tower at the same site?
First person who gets it right gets bragging rights for 5 minutes! (I'm feeling generous today)

There was a lighthouse built in a lighthouse in Maine but not in the tower. It was built by a lightkeeper. It was the scale model of Portland Head light station made by Portland keeper Joseph Strout. :)

This was a real lighthouse, if no one gets it by tomorrow when I check this post, I'll post a picture of the old light that the new one was built inside of. But, if I do that, you'll only get to brag for a puny 4 minutes :P

Zackary,
Why don't you wait a couple of days before you post that. A lot of people are gone this weekend and haven't seen the question yet.

It's a neat question. I'm betting you get some good responses if you wait a bit.

There is at least one that I know of. Because of its proximity to a nearby significant port, many of the keepers were compelleled to "work under the gun". In the years since this light was first established it has had several different names.

I'm surprised noone has answered it, I'm pretty sure you know it island.
As I said though, it's Wednesday

Here's the light the newer one was built inside of.

My guess is it is a lighthouse located on an island.

Lets go over the hints, It has been under a few different names, was built on a fort (for those of you who didn't catch island's "under the gun" hint) and is on an island.
Here's another one, it is a New England Lighthouse.
