8) Penobscot Bay Lighthouse Sunset Cruise

Friday, June 27, 2008 - Departs at 5pm 8)

Join the American Lighthouse Foundation on Friday, June 27th aboard the M/V Monhegan for a sunset cruise past four lighthouses and enjoy some of mid-Maine's beautiful coastal scenery.

This two-and-a-half hour cruise will include Rockland Breakwater Light, Indian Island Light, Curtis Island Light, and Owls Head Light. The narrator for this cruise will be ALF historian Jeremy D'Entremont.

The Monhegan will depart from Rockland's Harbor Park, right across the street from the Maine Lighthouse Museum. Snacks will be available on board or you may also bring your own food. (Please note: M/V Monhegan does not allow you to bring alcoholic beverages on board.)

While you are in town, plan a visit to the Maine Lighthouse Museum. The museum features the largest collection of fresnel lenses and lighthouse artifacts. Hours are Monday-Friday 9am to 5pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 4pm. A must see!

Tickets for this cruise are $30 for ALF members or $35 for non-members. You can purchase your tickets online at http://tinyurl.com/4db59e or by calling the American Lighthouse Foundation’s Rockland office at 207-594-4174.

Hope to see you there! This will be a great photo opportunity and an excellent way to meet fellow lighthouse enthusiasts! Don't wait until it's too late. Please show your support for the American Lighthouse Foundation and it's efforts to restore and preserve our historic beacons for future generations to enjoy.

My best, :D
