Mere and I made two, maybe three trips to the OBX before Adam and Zack were to be ... Then there was a hiatus of maybe five, six years before a friend offered up his place preseason, during Easter Break ...

First place we took them was Jockey's Ridge ... that sits across from Kitty Hawk Kites ... that day there was a very special kite flying, one that made the kids laugh uncontrollably ...

This kite wasnt there on every subsequent trip ... maybe another half a dozen times or so ... but it was there often enough to make us remember ... and giggle ... and lord knows, one cannot giggle enough ...

My friend was up and flying this past Wednesday ... Adam and Zack are 25 and 23 ... wish they were there with me ...
