With talk of an impending recession, I share their concerns that this might get tabled again. Sad....

This has been an on-going delima for many years. Maybe we need to start a letter writing campaign to North Carolina's two U.S. Senators, as well as the Governor. So far Bodie Island has been lucky in not getting a direct hit with a hurricane, but its just a matter of time.
What started out as a $1.8 million project has now escalated to over $3 million, and going higher each year.
With the billions of dollars paid out in pork-barrel projects each year it seems that NC could get some assurances that the work will be done, it a reasonable amount of time.
This is frustrating as hell for everyone who cares about that beautiful old light! :(

P.S. Since the letter writing campaign did help with the Currituck situation, maybe we can get some action going, at Bodie Island....it certainly won't hurt.
