Jay Miller, left, and Roy Blackwood head to the Tchefuncte River Lighthouse Friday. Miller is executive director of the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum and Blackwood is director of cultural resource management at Southeastern Louisiana University. Workers and volunteers from the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum and Southeastern Louisiana University planted bald cypress on grounds surrounding the lighthouse Friday in an attempt to stem erosion.
