The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is sampling sediment that will be removed from the harbor sipping channel as part of a deepening project.
That thumb strikes again.

Scientists will have to determine whether that silt can be disposed of on high ground or elsewhere, perhaps near the base of the lighthouse to help protect it from ocean waves
Someone does not appreciate the power of the ocean waves.
