There are two pips in a beaut, four beauts in a lulu,
eight lulus in a doozy, and sixteen doozies in a humdinger.
No one knows how many humdingers there are in a lollapalooza.

Here is the tour/visit information link with lots of photos that was mentioned in this news story. http://www.lighthouserestorations.org/

The timing of this post is interesting as most recently and including earllier today I have been collecting information for a story perphaps for L.Dig about Alexander Parris the guy who designed this lighthouse and many other structures and lighthouses including several in Maine such as Matinicus Rock, Saddleback and Mt. Desert. Parris had recommended a stone tower for the first light at Minots ledge but instead it was built more cheaply with legs of cast iron that later broke in a storm and the strucure fell into the sea with the loss of two keepers.
