Barry,

Boy ! did my eyes pick up about Spencerport NY. My mother lived with her Aunt and her family in Spencerport after her mother, my grandmother died when she was 5 years old. My mother cousin an active 87 year old still lives with in sight of the Erie Canal in Spencerport. My mother loved living with in walking distance of the Barge Canal or Erie Canal and Lake Ontario.

One of the things that my mother was proud of was graduating from Spencerport High School. "Teachers guide pupils educate themselves" is over one of the entry way doors.

Thank you for posting this story.

For those of you who do not know Spencerport is just outside of Rochester NY.
