From the Cape May County Times ...

NORTH WILDWOOD — The exterior of the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse is looking good in its original color, but the interior renovations have hit a snag. Funding for the project, which included addition of air conditioning, fire-suppression systems, and the return of a veranda and staircase, from a $330,000 grant from the Federal Highway Administration has yet to come in. The delay also has to do with the building’s lease, which is currently 13 years. In order to get a grant from the state Historic Trust, the city must have a lease of at least 15 years for the property.
