To often in this modern day world ours we forget how important aids to navigation like fog horns still are. We may not like the sound of them. I can think of sometimes at Beaver Tail Lighthouse in RI that the fog horn blasts where a Royal pain in the Ears and _____. I wanted that darn (I could use some much stronger words here) fog horn to stop blowing, I wanted it deactivated.

Fog horns are still very important to anyone who has a vessel.

Except for my experiences at Beavertail I have not been close to a fog horn going off non stop. I was only at for an hour or so. I really do not know what it would be like to have one going off non stop for days on end.
