Hereford Inlet is a great lighthouse to visit and a very difficult lighthouse to photograph without getting the radio tower in your image, but it can be done without photoshopping out the antenna if you're careful in composing your image.

It will be fun to visit Hereford the next time I'm down that way to see the Fresnel lens.

I'd also add that if you are a fan of gardens that hereford Inlet is one of the best lighthouse gardens out there.

Steve (forget his last name) has put alot of work into them and it shows. It's one of the reasons that Hereford Inlet is my wife Esther's favorite lighthouses to visit.

Does anyone have any idea who uses the radio tower anyway? I looked when I was down there but I couldn't figure it out.

It could be left over from when the Marine Police (State Police) were located next door to the lighthouse.
