On July 3rd & 4th, Nicole and I spent some time seeing the lights of Long Island. While we saw the Coney Island Light from the roadway, across the bay, we were turned away at the gated community.

Instead, we made Fire Island the first light of the day.

From the edge of Parking Field #5.

At first, we had to circle because they had the roadway closed that leads to Parking Fields 4 & 5. We stopped to talk to one of the workers, when they opened it up again for 30 more cars. Not sure why the had it closed off ~ Field 4 was closed with no cars in it, and Field 5 wasn't even 1/3 of the way full. Anyway, we parked and started off to see the "Winking Woman"

The flag pole is roughly the height of the original 1826 lighthouse.

The original foundation next to the boathouse

Workers over the side - we think they were painting but forgot to ask :(

Hopefully I'll get the rest of our trip done shortly.

Robert ... Where are the deer?
Believe those who search for the truth ...
Doubt those who find it ...
