Drab and Dreary Day in Connecticut!

Just got back from a lighthouse trip? Have you just finished photographing every aspect of one lighthouse? Post the pictures here! Lighthouse-related photos are also welcome.

Ok, here are those absolutely fantastic, you better not miss shots of the lights of Connecticut along the West end of the Long Island Sound.

We also viewed Sheffield Island in Norwalk but that photo was even more pitiful than the sorry lot I posted above so I won't even dare add that one to this sad collection. But...I figured I'd share these with those who are not familiar with these lights.

Hi Shirin! Thanks for posting yours so quickly. I've only seen mine on the camera so far, but I know they won't be anything to shout about.

Back in Richmond after leaving CT this morning at 5 a.m. (:|
Regardless of the gray soggy weather, it was fun and wonderful seeing everyone.

What a day! Had a blast. It was great to see everyone again and such a joy to get to meet Grover, Judy, Jen & Al! Can't wait to do it again.

Haven't had time to go through all the pics, but here's one.....

Nice shot of Tongue Point, as for the fog, it adds some mystery to the photos I think. It's nice to see the LHs in the weather they were designed for.

If I'm not mistaken, this makes post 400...cool

Great shots, you guys. It is too bad the weather didn't work out, but I thought it was kind of cool with the fog. I'm pretty wiped tonight, but I will see what I can dig out of the 2,000+ images I took this weekend over the next few days.

Wonderful photos, all! And just remember--a foggy day on the ocean is better than a sunny one when you're landlocked!!!

Isn't it supposed to be Summer over there? What are you doing with fog at this time of the year.

By the way it's 06.06.06 here today. Probably the same in the US as the day, month and year are all the same.

Spooky shots Shirin. The lighthouses should feel right at home in that weather.

Well, I guess the dreary mood just helped set the mood for some of Jeremy's tales of some not so friendly CT lighthouse keepers.

So far I've heard a lot of good feedback regarding the cruise and it seems like I've got just about another half a boat filled should we decide to do this cruise again next year.

It sounds like in spite of the weather everyone had a good time.

What is the story with Great Captains Island and Stamford Harbor Lighthouses??? Both look like they could a paint job and some repairs.

Considering the weather, you did a good job getting photos of these lights. Thanks for sharing them!

Well. if it hadn't of been for Stratford Shoal being on the list of lights to be seen during this cruise, I don't know that I would have bothered to go. As I'm sure Al can verify for you all,I really really didn't want to go with all that rain that was going to be heading our way. But, as I had not seen that last light yet, I just had to go!

Shirin,
I'm sure you will feel differently the next time NELL does this cruise. And, the poor weather conditions we encountered is a valid reason to redo it. All the comments that I heard were positive and I think a great majority of the attendees would do the cruise again.
