Texan wins bidding for Fairport Harbor West Lighthouse

A Texan has planted his flag on an iconic Lake County property.

With the highest, and last bid of $85,200, Scott Monroe of Seabrook, Texas, has acquired the Faiport Harbor west breakwater lighthouse.

Bidding for the lighthouse closed at 3 p.m., today. In all, the lighthouse attracted 11 offers and counter-offers from four bidders.

Ha, Ha....Loved the 'Rowboat' comments. I've been out to this one via the breakwall from Headlands, it's not all that bad....In clear weather, that is.

Concerning not clear weather, I wonder how well this lady will acclimate to the fog signal although the current sound signal is much less intense compared to the sound from the original compressed air diaphone horns at this lighthouse.
