Lighthouse preservation

American Express is helping out to preserve things in Chicago. You can vote for Gross Pointe Lighthouse in Evanston to get some needed funds. The website is at:

As of right now we are in 23rd place

. It will be very hard for us
to top Von Stueben because it is a high school and all the kids are
voting everyday in their classrooms because the teachers tell them to do it. But all we need to do is get into the top 10 get their attention. Keep voting everyday please!!! We are at 1% right now, I know we can do better, vote everyday if you can, PLEASE!!!

Well we ended up 24th out of 25 in voting.

That is pretty bad, considering that we lost out to a water tank at a cemetary.

But on the good side, American Express is going to give a $5,000 award to each of the remaining 10 Partners in Preservation sites in recognition of their participation in the initiative and their commitment to preservation efforts. So at least they got some money and a little more publicity about the lighthouse.
