Thanks for these Barry, I like to keep up on Split Rock. It's definitely one of the most distinctive lights on the lakes.

[AMANDA ODESKI/DULUTH NEWS TRIBUNE]

Glazier Tim Rooney of Duluth removes windows from the Split Rock Lighthouse Thursday morning with coworker LeRoy Landon of Superior. The two, employees of Superior Glass Inc., were preparing the lighthouse for renovation. They cataloged and labeled each pane because each has to be replaced in the same spot.

Well it was not long ago they worked on the lens (I sent them a small check). So, it should look really nice when this work is done.

From The Detroit Lakes-Tribune ...

Ribbon Cutting at Split Rock Lighthouse (Two Harbors)

The Memorial Day Weekend gets underway Friday, May 23 at 1 p.m., with a special ribbon ceremony to inaugurate the Split Rock Lighthouse remodeling project. The media and the general public are invited to take pictures during this photo opportunity. Tours of the renovated lighthouse, fog-signal building and the restored keepers dwelling will follow the ceremony. Renovations include painting the inside and outside of the lantern room at the top of the lighthouse, removal and resealing of its 27 curved storm panes, and repair to the lighthouse keeper’s houses, the fog signal building, and two wooden storage barns, all built in 1909. Museum admission applies.
