to everyone

Who here would be interested in a lighthouse cruise that would take 4 days and travel from Houghton Michigan to Charlevoix Michigan? This cruise would see such lights as the Huron Islands, Granite Island, Grand Island North, Au Sable, Crisp point, Whitefish Point, Isle Parisiene?, Point Iroquois, The Soo Locks, Detour Reef, Martin Reef, Bois Blanc, Round Island, Mackinac Bridge, White Shoal, Grays Reef, and several others that I am sure to be missing at this point. Stay tuned for more information.

Depends on the date. I am assuming this will be sometime in 2009?

I really enjoyed the WILD cruise you did a couple of years ago to Stannard's Rock.

Depends a lot on the dates, but that sounds like a really good itinerary. I'd certainly like to hear more as the plans develop.

I don't care much about the date, I'd probably be up for that.

The date(s) would be my biggest interest. Everything else rides on the time of year and what else will be going on with me by that time. Please keep us posted, though.

I think I would make it up there. It definitely would be worth the drive up there.

The dates really aren't important now, methinks Jason is just trying to gauge interest on the concept before putting too much into planning such a large scale event. So the most helpful thing we can do for him would be to say either yes I would be interested or no I wouldn't.

Interested: YES. Would be nice to meet some of you as well. But to be realistic, I think travel cost will be far to much :(

Hersh

You are right that I am just trying to gauge interest right now, but this is a trip that is more than likely going to take place whether there are people on the boat or not. I am in the process of making arrangements to move the Keweenaw Star to Charlevoix and run the fall color seasons down there. The color season lasts longer, and is attended by more people in that area than in the Houghton area. Although Houghton has been great July and August are all you have there. The other thing I am dealing with is the timing of the trip. It almost has to be 4 days because it is too far to go from Houghton the the Soo. We are looking at about 220 miles to go along the coast to the Soo which would take about 13 hours if we didn't slow down at any of the lights. You guys wouldn't like that to much. Therefore we almost have to stop in Marquette for the first night, the Soo the next night, and then Mackinaw City? We have to see where it all pans out. Tenatively this trip is scheduled for Sunday of Labor Day Weekend.

P.S. Captain Kurt keep the moving of the Keweenaw Star to yourself if you could.

Labor Day 2009? We might be able to get some WILD members interested in that.

Hey there Captain Jason, if you DON'T stop at the lights, you'd likely have a major mutiny among the passengers :!:
