Thank you for posting this story and photo. One of the reasons I liked it was sometimes we forget that many lighthouses had small farms, with farm animals. Cows, chickens, horses, donkeys all did important work at lighthouses. I am also a serious horse lover.

I too was a "serious horse lover" for about fifteen years. We owned six at one time.

Looking back, I now realize that had I not gotten addicted to hay burners, I would still probably have a boat, and would be retired.

We all have addictions, Terry, be they hay burners or things with Nikon or Canon emblazoned on them...
