Video worked for me but almost wish it hadn't account of the sadness of seeing the damage the vandals had done.

Took awhile, but I got the video to work also....Good Lord.... 8O

Bill Tazeleer, the man charged with the clean-up work, should get a medal for all he does....

See also by the story that the damage estimate is now up to "Several Thousand"....

Reporter also stated that while they don't want to press charges, they DO want restitution, and that it would be up to the Prosecutor to decide about filing charges against the vandals...

So sad. I hope they get an army of volunteers to come out and help with the cleanup.

If they are caught they should have to repair the damage (or if already fixed, repair other vandal damage to a property). They should also have to spend some time in jail, a least a week. Then when released they should have to start paying back for materail need to fix the lighthouse up.

OR perhaps we could be allowed to stone them and we pay for every rock we use to raise funds. (I know it can not happen but, if we could vandalism would go down a lot.)

Even stoning would be too good for them…But, what will most likely happen, assuming they are even caught, is probation and community service….Doubt that jail time will even be a consideration, especially if they are part of the “Upper Crust” of Holland society….

And, after all the plea bargains are worked out, the fines assessed, the deals signed….The vandals still will not come away with any sense of real responsibility for their actions….No real remorse for the damage they did, or for the affected people who have to undertake the cleanup and repair….

Respect for historical structures and artifacts has to be taught to be learned….Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore….
